Projects

‘Blessings in a Bag’ has a number of projects under them - both present and future.  Below is a list briefly outlining each project we have and our future plans.  We welcome anyone who would like to contribute ideas and volunteer!

BLESSINGS IN A BAG MOVEMENT

Blessings in a Bag partners up with organisatios and communities to set up a range of pick up points where people can drop off donations from our centre at specified locations. We advise people who bring donations with them to pack the items in their check-in luggage. Everyone who participates in the movement will help cut the amount of fuel used, reduce carbon footprints and actively be involved in making a difference in the lives of Children across Asia. BLESSINGS IN A BAG ‘BACK TO SCHOOL’

This is a work in progress but our vision is to see schools in Singapore actively representing ‘Blessings in a Bag’ within their own communities.  We plan to set up ‘Blessings in a Bag’ (BIAB) donation bins and get the students involved with our activities, plan events in support of BIAB and brainstorming ideas to help our beneficiaries.

BLESSINGS IN A BAG ‘HANDS ON’

We have just kick-started this program (and it’s still a work in progress) where interested groups can travel together to visit our beneficiaries and lend a helping hand to communities we reach out to.  It’s about getting youths excited to get their ‘hands on’ a good cause. This program will see groups travel to represent BIAB as well as group/individual proposal submissions on how best to make a (good) difference.  If the proposals blow the BIAB team away with originality and are viable, we’ll find people to help turn the idea on paper into action.  This not only benefits the community, but allows the group to take ownership of the project and see their proposal turn to reality.

BLESSINGS IN A BUS

Details coming soon.

SCRIBBLY FRIENDS

The aim of this project is to open up the lines of communication between the underprivileged children and youths in countries such as Nepal, Thailand, Philippines and India, with the likes of the children in Singapore, Australia and even America. In time to come, we hope to extend this network to fellow scribblers all over the world!

We would love to engage our youths in cultures and experiences that exist beyond their immediate surroundings, and have them celebrate and embrace difference and diversity in our modern world.

Do check out www.scribblyfriends.org for more details!
