We’re really excited to launch the first batch of tees because it’s been a long time coming to get to where we are today.  Sure, there may have been many times where frustrations and challenges try to knock us over and stop us from doing any good in this part of the World.. but it’s times like these that we can rejoice and tell ourselves:  We really did it.

And then aim for the next rung in the ladder to reach up to.  Which is why…

The sales of each tee will help to keep us in operation.  Let’s face it, nothing in this world can exist without funding to keep it going.  We need funds for the following:

Shipments of donations (when not enough people come by to pick up donations for the Blessings in a Bag MOVEMENT.  More often than not, we receive more donations than we can give out - it’s a good problem to have but we try our best to keep the items moving instead of just leaving them in our storage centre)

Our own place (we’ve yet to settle in a permanent location.  BUT! We’ve found a potential place.  It’s amazing and I’m sure all our BIAB fam members and WorldChangeAgents will love it!  But first, we need some funds to be able to pay the rent.  The place will not only serve as storage for our donations-in-kind but it will also be provide us with a place for us to carry out all operations eg. administration, meetings, events, etc)

Our projects (We have upcoming projects lined up.  They’re life changing.  They’re most definitely Asia-World changing, maybe even globally.  So we need to start setting aside a budget for each project that YOU can get involved with when they’re up and running)

Sustainable projects (We’re gearing towards helping not only ourselves become sustainable, but the people we help.  We want to equip and empower them with life-changing skills that can help them provide for their families.  But we need the funds to get things going for them initially)

This is CY, reppin’ the WorldChangeAgent tee.  He’s been part of the BIAB Fam for quite some time and he’s super awesome!

So like I said, there’s only a limited number of tees this first round. You’ll hopefully see more designs coming your way, but this particular first batch will definitely not be sold again.  The great thing about the tees is that they’re made of quality organic cotton and hand screen-printed so you won’t have to worry about tees falling apart while you’re walking around or after being put through the wash.

For now, we’ll only be selling them at our temporary HQ where we hold our Sunday Sessions (2pm-5pm at 20 Camden Park).

We’ll be selling them this Sunday 2-5pm and hopefully every Sunday after that (until stocks run out!  Like I said, they’re printed in super limited quantity and this particular design will probably not come around again.  So grab one for yourself and one for your friends)

Should you want a tee and there aren’t any left, we will be able to take pre-orders on the spot.

This is usually where founder, Emily Teng, meets WorldChangeAgents who have access to a car and can drive.  We meet usually every Sunday around 1.15pm and unload the donation bins into the cars and drive them down to our sorting area at 20 Camden Park.  If you’re free and have a car this Sunday, email us!

One of the many tasks a WorldChangeAgent can do to help us out!  Here we see, Krys, sorting out donations-in-kind and placing them into categories so that members of the public can easily see what items they’d like to bring with them for the ‘Blessings in a Bag Movement’. These items are also ready to be shipped off to our various beneficiaries.

It was a great opportunity for us to discuss how we can further our partnership, how we can help each other out and most important of all, how to reach out to more kids and increase the impact we’ve already been making!  As usual, we will keep you in the loop as and when we have more project details and ways you can support our beneficiaries like Family Care Cambodia.

For now, we still need help in a few areas to make this happen!

1.  Logistics Partner. We’re looking for a company/organisation/individual who can sponsor boxes of donations-in-kind to reach our beneficiaries in Cambodia.  Yes, you may argue that it may be more cost efficient to simply purchase new items locally (we are looking into this), but our main emphasis is that the items we do send over to various beneficiaries are items which would have otherwise ended up in landfills.  We think that protecting our planet should be one of our key objectives as well in as many activities as we get involved in.

2.  Donations in Kind. Whether new or pre-loved, we’d love them.  Don’t forget to see what’s included on our WISHLIST page to see if you have anything on there.  If there’s something not listed on the page which you are willing to donate, please email us and we’ll let you know if it’s suitable!

Thank you for your continued support.  It is because of you and your big hearts that we have been able to reach out to so many.

So we’re looking for volunteers to help out with sorting of donations, getting items ready for packing and helping us categorise our new area to make things work in a more organised and efficient way.

Students may come for this to earn CIP points as well - it’s actually one of the most popular ways to earn them!

If you can spare an hour or even stay for a few hours of your Sunday, we’d be happy to have you (and hopefully friends you bring along!)

This photo was taken right at the beginning (obviously).  We were located on the 3rd level and we had to shift things little by little to the area outside our unit.  One or two of the neighbours weren’t too happy with the amount of stuff we placed NEATLY outside but we weren’t too bothered by it because we already told management we would make it out within a day!

If anyone knows where we can get those blue/red/white bags for free or at a super low cost, please let us know!  If you can donate a few, that would be awesome as well because they come in handy when we categorise our items.

You can see our pile of K.C. DAT cardboard  boxes all ready for new shipments of donations.  You can also see a few of our WorldChangeAgents helping with the move.

This is only a quarter of the move done.  The truck hadn’t arrived at this point.  If you know anyone who’d be interested in donating those plastic boxes, please let us know because we really need them and they help us so much in the sorting-out process.

This is WorldChangeAgent, Ben.  It’s his first time volunteering with us and he’s amazing.  This picture tells the story of the entire process of our move.  When we arrived at noon, we found that the lifts were closed due to a problem with the motorbox (apparently the day before there was smoke flowing out of the lift).  Unfortunately, we are located on the 3rd floor so all of us had to carry things down 3 storeys and then climb up 3 storeys again.  This process was repeated probably over 100 times and I’m sure everyone had one of the toughest workouts with us (myself included)!  I just want to thank all the WorldChangeAgents once again for making it down and putting in so much hard work (and sweat).  You guys are simply awesome and we would not have been able to move without you!

This WorldChangeAgent is awesome!  She’s been volunteering with us for awhile now and she never fails to help out as much as she can.  Krys! You’re probably one of THE strongest girls I know around!  RESPECT!

This weekend and from every Sunday thereafter, we need volunteers to help us sort out donations-in-kind.  Items are always donated each and every week so we need to keep things as organised as possible.  Volunteers can assist in sorting, packing and tidying up donations-in-kind so that we can continue to work efficiently and towards our goal of reaching out to Asia kids and the communities they reside in.

With that being said, we really could not have done this without your support and this Sunday JUNE 20th is no exception.  We’ll be needing a bunch of volunteers to help carry items from our storage unit into a truck and to help with the unloading when we reach our new destination.

The following are a list of ways you can get involved - you can give an hour of your time over the weekend, or you can choose to stay till the job is done.  In fact, you may also wish to join the ‘Blessings in a Bag’ (BIAB) Family if you find yourself enjoying your time with us each and every weekend!

Our list is inexhaustive.  There are always things to do and things to help out with so take a look below and perhaps you can even suggest ideas on how else you can help out!  We’ve always believed in the words of Theodore Roosevelt:  Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE FOLLOWING:

1.  We’re going to launch our own Blessings in a Bag t-shirts to support our work.  Perhaps you can try to sell them at your school or create a link from your own website/web-store to our online store when it’s up and running!

2.  Invite us to your school. You can ask your school if you can help set up a booth for us to create awareness about what we do and the people we help.  You may also wish to sell ‘Blessings in a Bag’ t-shirts, badges and other products to help support our work as well!

3.  We need help to re-paint our donation bins and possibly re-design the whole look to suit the new SCAPE* building.  There are two donation bins that need repainting.

4.  Logistics.  If you drive or know someone who does, we need you! We need people who can spare an hour or two on Sundays to drive donations from our donation bins to our storage/temporary headquarters.  You may choose to help drive items every Sunday or just let us know during the week if you can do so!  We’re looking to build a sort of roster schedule so that everyone has a chance to contribute

5.  Two schools are teaming up to do a concert and to support our work - we won’t be taking the money directly, the students themselves will be purchasing donations in kind or sponsoring shipments of donations for us.  You may wish to do that as well and organise an event in support of us (or invite us to your event where we can set up a booth!)

6.  Come join us on Sundays starting from June 27th to help organise donations-in-kind, sort, pack and ready them to be shipped off or carried by Worldchangeagents for the Blessings in a Bag Movement.
