Family Care Cambodia meets ‘Blessings in a Bag’
We recently had the pleasure of meeting Alex and Ann who run Family Care Cambodia in Siem Reap and Phnom Penh. For me, it was my first time meeting the duo we have chosen to support since the early days of ‘Blessings in a Bag’. For our board member, Andrew, it was his second time having personally visited them in Cambodia last year.
It was a great opportunity for us to discuss how we can further our partnership, how we can help each other out and most important of all, how to reach out to more kids and increase the impact we’ve already been making! As usual, we will keep you in the loop as and when we have more project details and ways you can support our beneficiaries like Family Care Cambodia.
For now, we still need help in a few areas to make this happen!
1. Logistics Partner. We’re looking for a company/organisation/individual who can sponsor boxes of donations-in-kind to reach our beneficiaries in Cambodia. Yes, you may argue that it may be more cost efficient to simply purchase new items locally (we are looking into this), but our main emphasis is that the items we do send over to various beneficiaries are items which would have otherwise ended up in landfills. We think that protecting our planet should be one of our key objectives as well in as many activities as we get involved in.
2. Donations in Kind. Whether new or pre-loved, we’d love them. Don’t forget to see what’s included on our WISHLIST page to see if you have anything on there. If there’s something not listed on the page which you are willing to donate, please email us and we’ll let you know if it’s suitable!
You can drop items off at the following location:
*SCAPE YOUTH PARK (Opposite Cineleisure Orchard)
113 Somerset Road
There are two bins, both are located outside the building on the ground floor.
Here’s a link to a map! (Just in case you’re still unsure)
Here are some photos of our meeting. Alex was incredibly excited about Andrew’s brand new iPad!
