Urgent Help Needed!

Hello!  We wish to inform you all of what’s been happening lately with ‘Blessings in a Bag’ and the areas of help that we need (urgently).

• Comics Mart has closed down which has affected us - in a really bad way. Since their closure, the banks have chosen to seize their assets.  We have been sharing storage space with the store since over a year ago and now have been informed that the banks wish to seal the storage area.  This breaks our hearts as there are donations ready to be passed onto children and communities across Asia and there is nothing we can do, unless kind and generous people band together to help us out.  We are not allowed to enter the storage space to carry out our sorting and packing of donations at all.  We’re saddened that this has to happen and we hope that someone out there is able to help us out temporarily…or even on a permanent basis.  Please note that we are NOT involved with COMICS MART at all (other than the sharing of space which they generously allowed).  We are not legally implicated, we have just found ourselves in an unfortunate situation where we are simply caught in the crossfire between the banks and COMICS MART.

This is the situation and we need help.  And lots of it over the coming weeks and months till we can get back to a more solid foundation to run our operations from.  The following areas are things we urgently need help with:

1. Space. We need at least two bedrooms worth of space.  Ideally, we need it to be near the city as our drop-off point is located on Orchard Road and it makes more sense to be located near to all our drop-offs (present and future).  If you know anyone, please pass this information onto them.
2. Logistics. We need a truck/van/car that’s able to pick up donations from one location and drop them off to another.  We’ll need this when we set-up in a new location.
3. Auditor. We need someone who’s able to spare a little bit of time each month to go over our accounting - we’re hoping that this person can do this for us on a pro-bono basis.
4. Events/Space - To sell our t-shirts, bags and other merchandise.  Perhaps you’re a shop owner.  Maybe you’re organising an event.  Or perhaps you have your own website/blog and you’d love to help contribute to our cause by having our products up for sale at your store/event/website.  Please let us know!

And, as always, we would be more than happy to include company logos on our website as a way of thanks for anyone who steps up to help.  We appreciate any help.  And we sincerely thank (from the bottom of our hearts) all of you who have stood with us and supported us all this while.
